Deborah E. Goldberg is currently the Elzada U. Clover Collegiate Professor and Chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. Her research explores the processes that control the structure and function of ecological communities over a variety of spatial and temporal scales and how these processes are affected by changes in climate, nitrogen enrichment, and by invasion of exotic species. She has held appointments as a visiting faculty member at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of New Mexico, Ben Gurion University in Israel and Charles University in the Czech Republic. She also served as co-chair of the Invasive Species Subcommittee for the NEON Design Consortium and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Great Lakes and Central Area Ecological Observatory Consortium (GLACEO). Dr. Goldberg received her BA from Barnard College in 1975 and her PhD from the University of Arizona in 1980. She has been on the faculty at the University of Michigan since 1983.
