Linda Laurens

Linda Laurens is the Executive Assistant to NEON CEO David Schimel. She brings a range of skills and experience to the position, including responsibility for office management, workflow coordination, events and conference planning, database management, report composition, coordination of marketing materials, client liaison, editing, and special project management. A Colorado resident since 1995, Ms. Laurens has served as an Administrative Specialist at SCC/Intrado and as Executive Assistant to the Vice-President for Manufacturing at Amrion/Whole People in Boulder. She was also Assistant to the Vice President at Westminster Capital in Beverly Hills, California. Immediately prior to joining NEON, Ms. Laurens held the position of Assistant to the Director at the UNAVCO Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO), part of the NSF-funded EarthScope Project. She supported engineering staff and managers who executed field installations and equipment maintenance for studies of the three-dimensional strain field resulting from active plate boundary deformation across the Western United States. Earlier in her career, Ms. Laurens was a corporate publicist for Rogers & Cowen, Inc., where she managed product placement for such clients as Ford Motor Company, RJ Reynolds, and for numerous motion pictures and television shows. She also did production work for Klein & Friends, Walt Disney Co. In addition, she co-founded and worked at an orphanage in Haiti, where she also coordinated events at the American Embassy.
