Gary Sanders served as chair of the NSF Conceptual Design Review of NEON, November, 2006. He is project manager of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT), a collaborative project among Caltech, the University of California, and the Association of Canadian Universities for Research in Astronomy (ACURA). Prior to his work on the TMT, Dr. Sanders was project manager and deputy director of the Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) and project manager for the GEM Detector of the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory.
