Terry L. Yates currently serves in three capacities at the University of New Mexico: Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Professor of Biology and Pathology, and Curator of Genomic Resources at the Museum of Southwestern Biology. He is a former Director of NSF’s Division of Environmental Biology. His currently funded research focuses on surveillance and monitoring of Hantavirus in natural populations of mammals through the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases, International Center for Infectious Disease Research, Knowledge and Distributed Intelligence, Bioscience Center for Informatics, University DTRA Partnerships, and the Sevilleta Long-Term Ecological Research project.
